There are two types of Plastic Bags, Lay-flat (flat) and Gusseted.
Lay-flatThere are Three dimensions for each Lay-flat bag. – Length (L) The first measurement is the width across the opening of the bag. The second measurement runs from the bag opening to the base of the bag. The Gauge is a measurement of the Thickness of the material an is usually listed in Mils. | Gusseted

Fitting Bags To ContainersFor a Round Container Width: To determine the width of the bag, multiply the diameter of the container by 3.14 and divide by 2. Add 1″ for a looser fit. Length: For Liners Only: To determine the length of the bag, add 1/2 of the diameter to the length of the container. Add 5″ to this for the total for overhang. For Tying Bag Only: Same as liners but add 1/2 the diameter to the bag length. | To Line Cartons/BoxesAdd the Width and the Length of the sides. Add 2″ for a looser fit.
